Bad lag and slow website loading times

I've had VM 1gig for a couple of weeks. Prior to this I had Plusnet 70mb and didn't really have any issues apart from some slow page loading on occasion. I'm now teaching online and wanted a better connection so switched to Virgin Media.

I'm starting to regret that decision. Although broadband speed checks say that I am getting 1gb, it's taking considerably longer for websites to load, trying to teach on Teams and having other sites/apps open is near impossible, and I'm getting a lot of lag on my computer in general now.

I looked at the network log and can see these issues - can anyone guide me on steps I can take to fix them? I need a stable internet connection!

    Hi Mz_Tudor

The network logs you posted don't really show much, plus they contain your MAC addresses.  The Forum moderators will edit your post and blank them out.

Are the bad lag and slow loading issues occuring on wired connections, or just on wireless connections?

Have you used the /check-services/ function to check for any possible problems in your area? You can also a run a test on your equipment from there. If nothing is showing  you could also try the automated Service Status number  0800 561 0061.  This is generally  better  as it gives details of more local issues down to postcode level.

Ideally you should go into your hubs Settings > Advanced Settings > Tools > Network Status again, but this time copy paste (don't screenshot)  the information from the Downstream and Upstream tabs into here.   This will provide the forumm guru's with the information they need to ascertain the health of your connection.

Also set up a quality monitor (BQM) on /thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality  which will show any drops, min connection and lagging.

It would also help if you ran a full test via https://samknows.com/realspeed/ from your computer, ideally connected to your hub by ethernet cable.
