Atypical install
I live on a private street of 12 houses that is devoid of VM or FTTP. Have suffered through the last few years with -\+70Mb but it’s not cutting it anymore. Most of my neighbours complain of this too.
VM 1gig is available on the Main Street outside ours (approx 75m) away. Current BT cabling is supplied via ducting under the roadway which is privately owned by the residents through a privately operated freehold management company.
I believe it is likely posible to use the existing ducting to run VM to the properties. I’ve read the VM are sometimes reluctant to install on private streets but in this case, way leave permission would be straightforward and it seems to me a reasonably straightforward install (albeit atypical).
Myself and other residents are happy if necessary to pre-cable but want to first ensure VM would/could sign us up. I’ve tried the phone, but as might be expected, they simply say ‘your area is not serviced’.
There must be another way! Any tips on getting an engineer/spotter to come and see that it is viable?
