Virgin Media O2 link

Hi. I'm not able to log in to my Virgin email without being directed to linking my email account to my O2 account. I've gone through the process several times but have hit a block on verifying my O2 account. The Yahoo email address I'd used in the past for my O2 account has been deactivated. I've tried to sign up again to Yahoo with the same email address but it's obviously recorded as 'already taken'. Any advice how I can link my VM email to my O2 account even though I can't verify? Or how to access my VM email without linking the two accounts? Thank you.
