UK customer support telephone number

Does anyone have the phone number to the UK based customer support department? I used to have it and have lost it.

Just to be clear. No, I don't want to talk to an AI bot or discuss it via private message, thanks.

  • Isn't it wonderful in the era of more ways to 'connect' with people, the ability to just speak to someone has gone. Just spent 12 minutes to 150 going round and roun trying to speak to someone who could help and got hung up on.

Then a further 30 minutes talking to someone somewhere in the world and getting nowhere.

We are going backwards. Even the kids use heiroglyphs to talk, or access windows computers.

Working as designed, I suspect. The longer they waste your time, the more money they make and the greater chance there is that you just give up.

I've been a customer over 20 years and it's never been so bad as it is now. One thing after another. Can't wait to leave  as soon as my contract is up.

  • Hello u4ria79.

As other posters have pointed out, it is unlikely that such a number is operational in 2025.

I encourage you to reconsider the option of seeking support via these forums.

Of course, it will, most likely, involve a greater degree of self-learning and time investment, as opposed to calling in and requesting a fix for a particular issue.

Generally speaking, I recommended minimising (if possible) VM call-centre interactions, the experience of which, and the results of which, can both be inconsistent.

Instead, I would recommend setting out your problem in a respectful and concise way (albeit, with any necessary details included) on these forums, following the suggested advice, and then engaging with VM forum colleagues (who are UK based) via private messaging after (or if) one reaches out to you.

Do not rule-out the usefulness of private messaging, once (or if) the opportunity for that comes into play.

The point for most people is to have a one-to-one conversation with the owner of the contract - Virgin media - not a chat group, patner mobile team, forum, electronic agent or foreign call centre. It is even more complicated by the fact that some issues are (eventually) directed to O2 not Virgin Media and neither of these departments seem to have vison of/consistency or even knowledge of content managed by the other.  A single, central point of contact with the contract owner on the virgin media UK contract management team does not seem too big an ask, but yet is impossible to achieve (there must be an individual with management oversight of the customer's specific contract - at least for legal reasons -surely). I find it unbelievable that Virgin Media UK can simply reply with "We do not have a specific number to call UK based agents".  This adds to the low opinion of Virgin Media customer services reported on most Broadband provider comparison sites as reported by Virgin Media Customers. Virgin media services are good - customer interface (post sales) poor to remote/hands off at best.

Just todays communication/interaction with Virgin Media/O2.
My package detail says it is due for renewal.  The overseas helpdesk says this is an internal error as expiry is 1 march 2026 (based on promotions and discounts included).  At the same time I am being offered a new user/transfer Volt deal by O2 promotion - I've had volt since 2023 and the agent said this is also a glitch in the system.

I also tried to name my wife as a nominated delegate (so that she also had visibility of Virgin Media material should I be away from home) with her email and mobile number.  This was transfered to O2 to process, who promptly addressed the nomination to me at my wife's email (provided on nomination). She declined and I got a message that I had declined to be my own nominated delegate!

Consistency and customer care are key - "we can't be bothered" is the wrong answer.

  • Hi u4ria79

We do not have a UK-based number, but if you wish to call our team, you can reach us at 0345 454 1111, and our team will do their best to support you. You can also let us know the issue you are having here, and we will do our best to help.

    Thanks,

We do not have a specific number to call UK based agents. There is not a number that we have that is direct to UK based agents. All our customer service agents will be able to assist with query and direct you to the correct department if your query is handled by a dedicated department.

We'll be more than happy to assist with your concerns here if you wish, however as we have advised, there is no number that is direct to UK based agents.

If you had one it has gone. I had a direct number for U.K. retentions from my last contract renegotiation. Dialled it the week before last. Recorded message saying (to paraphrase) "This line is now closed. Please call 150 or 0345 4541111..."

If there was a specific number for UK-agents, it would become pretty popular quite quickly, and VM would be very likely to either close it down just as quick.

Phone traffic goes to an automated allocation system that routes traffic to the next available agent, be they offshore or UK. So the best time to try is around 8am weekdays when the UK call centres go live. There is now no guarantee that retentions calls will be routed to UK only as they used to be.

  • AFAIK the VM forum team is UK based. If DMs are beneath you then call the usual number but select the "thinking of leaving us" option (1,4,4 I think).
