Spam calls claiming to be virgin media.

I’m being spammed multiple times today from a number 0800 052 8675 claiming to be virgin media. They call me by name and I keep telling them that I’m happy with what I have and I’m not interested in hearing about any upgrades because I’m happy with what I have. 
they then get very pushy and annoyed that I say this and I repeat myself multiple times and then hang up. Just today I have been called 7+ times. 

is it really virgin media, and if it is, how can I stop the spam? My account is already set up to not receive calls about promotions etc.

      All marketing preferences are set to off because I don’t want to receive calls for anything.

    Stop answering the calls. Block the number.

    Make a formal complaint to VM.

    If the calls persist, escalate to ICO (if the calls are from a real person/live sales call)

    This assumes the calls really are from VM and not from scammers using a spoofed caller ID (an equally likely possibility).

    A VM person should reply here (usually within a few days) and should offer to make sure you are opted out of VM marketing calls.

      I have no idea if it really is virgin media, they know my name, and no matter how many time I say I’m not interested, they still push me to try listen to what they want to say. 
      I’ve heard that it is there number but numbers can be cloned so no way to know for sure. I’ve just checked my marketing preferences again and I am opted out for everything.
