Sky Sports UHD offer

I've logged into my account and found Sky Sports UHD for £3.50 a month for 18 months. Does anyone know where to find the terms and conditions on the offer, if you can cancel at any time and when the offer finishes? I had a look last night, but couldn't see anything.

  • Hi shawty1984,

The information below was on an email I received when I was offered Sky UHD, I assume your offer T&C's will be similar, it may need a phone call to confirm that.

Sky Sports UHD – £3 for 18 months: Sky Sports HD subscription required to take Sky Sports channels in UHD. Sky Sports UHD channels £3 extra a month for 18 months when already subscribing to Sky Sports HD channels. From month 19, you will automatically be charged the full standard monthly price, currently £7 per month, unless you choose to cancel by providing Virgin Media with at least 30 days’ notice. Sky Sports must be kept for at least 30 days but can then be cancelled on 30 days' notice at any time. Offer end 25th June 2023 at 23.59. Service usually upgraded in 48 hours, but in the case of exceptional services may take up to five working days.

  • Can someone from Virgin Media please look into my account. Under my account I can add Sky Sports UHD for £3.50 for 18 months. I've just took over my dad's account who passed away and it says I'm on a 30 day rolling contract I believe. I went to my account to add Sky Sports UHD and the contract details it's sent, it's putting me into a new 18 month contract which I don't want at the moment.

Is this correct, please can someone check my account.

Usually any changes to a VM Contract will result in a new 18 month contract?

If this is the case, you have 14 days to cancel and revert to your old contract.

Including adding on add ons that can be cancelled with 30 days notice?

      Hi shawty1984,

Thanks for posting and sorry for any confusion regarding upgrading.

If a discount code is applied, this would usually recontract you for 18 months. If adding the the add at full price, this would be on a rolling 30 day basis.

You can speak to the team on 150/ 0345 454 1111 to remove this is you're within your 14 day cancellation period as mentioned.

        Hi Alex.

Can you link to the terms and conditions of said offer as none are available that I can see. It's Sky Sports UHD for £3.50 for 18 months.

      HI shawty1984

Sorry to read of your fathers passing. Sending upliftment and support.

If your account says you can add Sky Sports UHD for £3.50 for 18 months then it would indeed be tying you into a new 18 months contract. Also you would off course already need to paying for a Sky Sports subscription and the Sky Sports HD add on.

If the account already includes Sky Sports HD in the price you are paying then I suggest speaking to retentions to see if they can offer the UHD add on at £3.50 a month on a 30 day rolling contract which would then tie in with your current 30 day rolling contract.

Since it looks like you are already out of contract (hence the 30 days rolling contract) it might also be a good idea to test the waters by negotiating  a new deal with them for all the services you want/require and if acceptable then accept that new deal and new minimum term contract.

Thank you for the advice. Would it not need to be made clear at point of sale that it would be an 18 month contract? Also I feel it's very shady there seems to be no terms and conditions for said offer.

I have (or believe I have) a recurring £25 discount that runs out in November, so I wasn't looking at negotiating a deal just yet. I was just wanting to add Sky Sports UHD for the advertised price of £3.50 for 18 months.

  • If you don't agree to the contract sent out, does it automatically cancel itself? Or do you have to actually state you don't want it anymore?

  • All sorted though WhatsApp. But do we actually have any terms and conditions for this offer.

When you said it was "All sorted though WhatsApp." did you not get any T&C's, the forum team don't always know about these offers and when I phoned retentions they had to check to activate it, you might need to wait for a forum team member to respond and bumping up your post doesn't help.

All sorted that it was cancelled. Not one person I've spoke to have shown me any T&Cs for said offer, very shoddy service.
