Renewing Contract

My contract ends on Nov 15th and was wondering when is the best time to look at renewing for the best deal? Not really after it cheaper than what I have got, but don't want it to go up!

  • Hi gingermoonman

Thanks for posting and welcome back to our community.  If you have a month remaining (or just less, now) it would be best to see your options available.  So we can take a check on your billing (as it's a month in advance) I am going to send you a private message. Please keep an eye on your inbox in the top right of your screen.

    Regards

I'd seriously start looking around then. VM have shown over past year on these forums that they have no desire to keep long term customers and have been upping the renewal costs even if cancelling. Even if you do manage to get a deal, its proven time and time again on here by customer complaints that the actual contract isn't as agreed, either on price or services in it.

So, do your homework now, look at other providers, their cost, and negotiate armed with that information. Don't assume that even if you negotiate a deal, it is actually that, until the contract comes through or the first revised bill comes in.

If you have an ALTNET in your area, don't be scared its not BT or Virgin Media brand. Many offer better internet service with lower latency and full fibre with symmetric upload/download speeds, no in contract price rises and UK support not offshore without waiting long for someone to answer the phone. Most have free installation of the fibre and a supplied modern router, with options for a static IP address if required, and a number like Netomnia/YouFibre and Trooli even pay off up to 6 months of remaining contract with a current provider. Some like CityFibre also have well known ISP brands on board like Vodafone and soon Sky, as well as many other ISPs.
