Renewal Price

So after many attempts over the last few months of trying to get a better deal with virgin, it seems my lowest possible is £57 a month for 1gb or £82 for 1gb, TV and a sim that I don’t want or need.

After reading the many forums/groups online this seems quite a lot compared to some? Not talking about new customers but I have seen many threads with renewing customers getting £39-45 for the same speed 1gb connection it seems quite steep?

Spoken to online chat several times and get offered ridiculous deals until I say I’ll cancel and they each say £57 is the best possible for existing customers once I have jumped through hurdles for 10 minutes to get to the final offer.

Even had one chap say he needs to set my expectations which was rather demeaning!

Been a customer since 2018, what renewals are you all getting out of curiosity?

You mention being offered a SIM that you don't need. Try coming at this from another angle - VM operate a multi-buy discounting system where additional services attract extra discounts, which reduce the per-service price.

So is the additional SIM hurting you? If not - accept it, say "thankyou for my extra discount" and file the SIM as you see fit. A few relatives have done exactly that.

Honestly, being a customer since 2018, irrelevant, they don’t care. Now you might see it as ‘loyalty’, they see it as ‘mug, been with VM since xyz, unlikely to move, offer them nothing’. And I’m sorry, but that is the reality of the situation!

Also what others are offered is equally irrelevant, VM know what alternatives are available in your area - they know where you live. So if there are a number of fibre providers available to you, then they will pitch an offer accordingly. If not, well they have you by the proverbial ‘short and curlies’ and they know it and will offer you a much worse deal.

And in a way this is fine, it’s called 'business’, they offer a service, they demand £x, take it or leave it.

So, forget what anyone else is offered, irrelevant, you, yourself, what do you want or need? What alternative providers are there where you live, what can they offer, how much, is what they offer acceptable?  If it is then you leave VM and sign up with them, and if not then sorry, you suck up what VM demand  - or move house.

  • Hi Goslingjc,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums. ⭐

We're sorry to hear you feel this way. Renewal quotes and discounts always depend on a range of things including length of service, the particular services you have, payment history, just to name a few.

The teams will always offer the best available for you at the time though. This is something we can certainly check for you but in order to do that I'll need to confirm some information with you to pass security.

I've sent you a direct message to allow us to do this with you in a private space. Just click on the little ✉ at the top right-hand side of the page to access your inbox. :)
