Problem logging in to VM Community

Each time I attempt to log in to Virgin Media Community, I get stuck in a seemingly endless loop of "Unexpected Error - refresh the page and try again". After countless attempts, and cache clearances to no avail, I finally manage to log in. WHY?

Login name and password are obviously correct, so any ideas as to why I'm getting this infuriating error?

    We've not heard of any issues with the Community regarding this, so is it the same on each device you try?

    Try using an "InPrivate" / "Incognito"  browser window?

    This fault has been posted about multiple times.

    Via Firefox I often see : 

    1)  Failing to come with a functioning login dialogue i.e. one that validates the credentials.
    2) Getting stuck in the "Unexpected Error - refresh the page and try again" doom loop.
    3) Forum menus are very messy to use. 
    4) "Keep me signed in"  does not work
    5)  Forum web page suddenly refreshes during use and the session has been logged out.
    6)  Edit a forum post and the changes are not displayed.


    Using Edge / Chrome does appear better & the menus work correctly.

    It was, but today all is fine, but I have been mucking about with the modem and router, so who knows? Thanks for responding.

      I have had this problem. I use the Brave browser because it is heavily geared towards privacy. To get around this problem I switch off the Brave Shields anti-tracker/cookie protection for community.virginmedia.com and then it works fine every time. I also use the Edge browser on rare occasions. For Edge, I leave privacy matters to my Bitdefender Anti-Tracker. Again, for me to be able to log in to this community I have to switch it off for community.virginmedia.com. This implies that the problems are cookie and/or session related so it might be worth checking your browser settings and making community.virginmedia.com an exception so it can do what it wants to do. Hope this helps. Just for the record, I stay a squillion miles away from the Google Chrome browser due to privacy concerns. Edge is not much better!

      Pick the area you want to post in from the topics in the red banner at the top of the page and you should see a purple "start a discussion" button. For example, pick TV and then the relevant forum (Virgin TV 360, Virgin TV V6, etc) from the dropdown and you should see the button. Welcome to the forum!
