The forum software has been a mangled mess since it launched in January. It continues to be unreliable and unpredictable.
The no-notification issue is experienced by others too

Yep. I had intermittent email notifications from some of the VM forum staff trying to get a resolution to my complaint. I had no emails notifying me about private messages at all. It was down to me to keep checking and chasing.
Which is just another frustration with VM’s half-hearted approach to customer service and support.
My only conclusion can be that this is a deliberate decision on VM’s part.

Yes, I'd agree. My impression/opinion is that VM has given up on the forum and just abandoned it to its fate since the ill-fated 'upgrade' in January. VM forum team replies seem less common and references in topics seem to suggest VM is leaning more towards the 'so-shall-me-jar' platforms for online comm's with customers. The present operation of the forum is little more than a helpdesk ticketing system.
