New Virgin deal while old one is running.

Hi everyone,

I’m moving out of my family home at the end of this month, which coincides with the end of my Virgin Media contract. My younger brother was hoping to take out a new broadband-only deal with Virgin as it would obviously no longer be in my name. It works out cheaper for a new customer, and with the current promotions like 3 months free and Black Friday discounts, he wants to sign up now before they end.

I’m wondering what this means for me. I imagine his contract would start as soon as he signs up, which would be before my current deal ends. Would I be liable for anything in that case? I’ve already spoken to Virgin about cancelling my contract, and they said I’d need to pay for the remaining month, which is fine. However, I wasn’t able to get a clear answer about whether I would be charged for anything else if a new contract at the address is taken out before mine ends or if there are any other charges like that. Or if I would still just pay for my remaining month.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Would really appreciate any advice!

You cannot have two VM contracts with different people at the same address like you are suggesting. Also you must give a 30 day period to terminate, so unless you have done this your contract will not end before mid January.

      Hi kcity7 👋.

Thanks for reaching out to us and welcome to the Community Forums, congrats on your new home and we hope the move goes smoothly. With your brother wanting to take advantage of the Black Friday deals that we have ongoing for the last day, we re not a Sales team but it may be possible to order in advance with an install date that will line up with your end of contract date. For clarity we would advise to speak to the Sales team 📞0800 183 1234.
