Sorry to hear of your issues with your Sky channels. That error message is related to initial set up and live channel entitlement. If these channels show on your contract. Can you try connecting to the Virgin Media services manually in the network settings on the set-top box?
If this doesn't work and the set-top box is fully updated and finished, can you try a reboot for me? Keep the box off power for 10 seconds or so, switch it back on and let us know if this has resolved the channel issue for you.
Sky Sport is not available on the Virgin TVGO, so you'll need to get the Sky Sports app and sign in with your Virgin Media online account details using the option 'Sign in with Virgin Media' on the Sky Sport app itself.

Hi tried system re-boot, un plugging and leaving off for a while still the same. Nothing i try makes any difference.
my contract states i have the Mega TV package. I can give you my contract number or account number if that helps
Also having issue with the mini box, not connecting at all, giving error code CS1011
