Netflix free with Ads

I've been seeing reports in the papers but also seen a advert on TV saying Netflix is now free on all TV packages. After speaking with a customer service rep apparently this is untrue and it's only the premium packages getting this yet we are all getting a mid term price increase. To me this feels wrong and should be highlighted it's only a premium account package freebie.

    Hi taylorri40

It isn't only a "premium account package freebie".

Netflix with ads is free on all TV packages (except for the Essential packages) to all new and recontracting customers.

If you recontract then you will qualify for the free netflix with ads.

    Info below from
    https://news.virginmediao2.co.uk/virgin-media-o2-offers-even-more-choice-flexibility-and-entertainment-with-new-bundle-line-up/

"New and re-contracting customers can choose from five core TV packages which have been refreshed and renamed with simple, more descriptive titles to better support households in choosing a package that is right for them.....
The new bundles also bring to life Virgin Media’s enhanced partnership with Netflix, with M500, Gig1 and Gig2 broadband only packages now including Netflix Standard with Ads as part of the package price – making Virgin Media the only UK provider to offer Netflix at no extra cost with a broadband only package – as well as all TV bundles across Virgin Media’s range including the streaming subscription as standard to offer customers a simpler, less fragmented way to enjoy their favourite content.
