Merging with o2

My ported phone numbers were put in 2 accounts by o2 2 years ago despite assurances that wouldn't happen.  Many broken promises to fix this later in now faced with the fact I can only link one of those accounts with my virgin account. 

I'm tired of the inability to fix this. I was told they'd do it automatically. Now I have to wait till I've finished the contracts o or paid then off brit this van be fixed. 

Has anyone else experienced this and how have they dealt with it?
