Changing direct debit, merging into one

Hi. At the moment I have my virgin media tv/broadband/home phone as one payment and my 02mobile phone, as a separate payment, going out of one bank account, separately. I would like to join these so they go out of another bank account but as one monthly payment. How do I go about this? Is it easier to phone or can it be done online? I would also like to lose the home phone as it's no longer used.

Thanks for any advice 👍

  • Ah righto, that explains it :)

Glad to hear it's being sorted.

Removing the landline will mean a new 24 month contract at a higher price.  VM are a “bundles” supplier and it’s cheaper to have more services. It would be best to leave the landline as it is.  Just unplug the phone and forget about it.

As I understand it VM and O2 still have separate accounts and billing systems so it would not be possible to combine the payments into a single DD

Although you can't join both payments to come out as a single direct  debit payment it shouldn't be a problem changing the direct debits so they both go out of another bank account.

If the direct debits are currently paid on different dates then you could also change the date so that the payments fall on the same day.  It would however mean that for one month you would probably have a higher payment to bring the actual payments dates into line, but going forward the actual amount would revert back to normal.

Ok, so following the change DD details on VM, I keep on getting the "Somethings not quite Right" page, yesterday and today. "Support" doesn't tell me anything. I'll keep on trying this weekend before I phone up unless anyone can give advice. The 02 page seems OK.

    Thanks 👍

Have you tried using an incognito/private page or different browser?  Or the My Virgin Media app?

No joy  still getting the "Not quite Right " page. Sorted the 02 side of things easily enough.

Had a "chat" with a robot on the phone just now and it sent me a text message, then hung up, that took me to the not quite Right page., doh!! Things used to be so simple back in the old days 🙄

      Hi redeye2

Apologies it's not working. Can you call the team on 0800 052 2620 and they should be able to take new direct debit details :).

        Hi John

Thanks, spoke to someone and because my bill is pending at the moment, they can't change it, but will when this bill is paid. Thanks again 👍
