Live Chat not working - 1st November 2024
I am trying to contact VM to cancel my package, but none of the Live Chat buttons on any of their pages do anything. I've tried them in Firefox and in Edge, nothing. I tried phoning up, and when I finally got through all the options to the place I wanted to be, the recorded message said it would be much quicker to contact them via live chat, and to press '1' to get a text with a link sent to my phone, so I did that, but the link, which was
virginmedia.com/click2chat?tid=xxxxxxxxxxxxx
where 'xxxxxxxxxx' is a long number, goes to
https://www.virginmedia.com/help/live-chat
rather than to the URL they sent me - i.e. it immediately changes to
https://www.virginmedia.com/help/live-chat as soon as I enter it into my browser and press enter - so VM is redirecting it to a generic 'help' page, which has live chat which doesn't work!
