Infuriating 'IDF-12B' error when attempting to sign in

The title says it all really - I haven't been able to get into my account for a number of months now, and clearing browser cache/using alternate browser/performing ritual incantations has no effect at all.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks for posting, and sorry to see you're having some issues trying to sign in.

    Can you confirm if you're using a VPN? If so, can you disconnect this and try signing in again?

    I'm seeing this IDF-12B error again on my home PC.  Signing in on my work laptop works fine, however.  I'd rather not have to do that, given traffic is monitored.

    Subsequently, it's a pain to pay either the O2 or Virgin bills on my home PC.

    Why is this process prone to failure so often?
