I've had a similar mail and experience trying to log on to billing, though the amount stated in the email is correct and the email came from a virginmedia.co.uk address. I checked and this amount was direct debited from my bank a few days ago. So is there a problem with the Virgin Media billing system?

You might find you're unable to amend existing packages, use self-care functionality, access their billing, amend current packages and cross-sell/up-sell via MyVirginmedia.com. We can assure you we're looking into this and working on a resolution as soon as possible.

I'd like to know how my account number and area number were used by scammers in an email to try to get me to pay an 'outstanding amount' of £22.95 this morning? I have never published those details outside of secure conversations by email or chat with Virgin media representatives.
I have sent the scam email to: phishing@virginmediao2.com
