Home move

Hi there, I recently completed a home move and I took the router and cables with me, the engineer installed the correct box in the new address and hooked everything up. And I have had working broadband fine. On Thursday I recieved a new cable, it is the same kind but there is a white tubing on it. Today I recieved a text message from an unknown number to activate my services in the new place?

any advice? Do I change cables? Should I have left the old cable in the old address? Or leave as is?

  • Hi Debbzz

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community. We hope your house move went well :)

From what you've said, it's normal to receive what you have and if it's working, then no worries at all :)

Pop us another post if you ever need help though.

  • Yeah I was gonna leave it as is just a bit confused, not sure if I was meant to take the white cable with me or not! If all else fails I’ll drop them a message via live chat when it’s open.

  • If it is all working, I’d be tempted to leave well alone!

The cable is irrelevant, and I suspect that the text message was just some automated process but this has already been actioned by the tech who installed it and can safely be ignored.

Of course if it all falls over in a couple of days, (hint: it won’t) then come back and blame me!

    Best wishes.
