Eurosport - TNT

Question

I was wondering where my offer email was, given that the cycling on Eurosport was the main reason I came back to VM.

With their channels gone, I was wailing and gnashing my teeth, about to complain bitterly and then I checked the spam folder.

There it was, dated 31st Jan. Fortunately that's just before it would be automatically deleted and today is just within the 30 day deadline to accept it.

I have had reason to dislike VM's service a lot, but this offer is great. I am even delighted to see that recorded content from Eurosport hasn't vanished, so I still have Cav's historic 35th Tour win for example.

Before I am completely going 'chapeau', let's see if I get the credit automatically added. If it is, I will be both delighted and, honestly, a little bit surprised.

And this morning comes an email with "Here's how your changes affect your next bill" with the cost of TNT Sport added without a credit to cover the cost.

I'm not surprised, but should this have mentioned the automatic credit or will that be a second email?

Even if you get the "special" deal, it is only likely to last until your next renewal. Eurosport in the rest of Europe has been a premium channel for a while now (excluding Germany), so whether it's TNT or Eurosport, you are liable to be paying Warner (who own the sport rights) a lot more through your subs.

Some cycling coverage is moving to Quest HD (Channel 137) which Warner also own.

Recordings from Eurosport will be maintained for at least 3 months, at which point you will lose access to them. They are licenced by the broadcaster for time shifting purposes only, so should not be treated as an archive.

Oh, I know it's only until the next renewal. That's not for over a year though.A minuscule amount is on Quest, from what I can see. A weekly show and a few highlights.&nbsp;

The promise of some sport on Quest seems to be something Warner Bros used to try and avoid a backlash but there is barely any sport of any kind over the next few weeks, infact most weeks there is nothing except a one hour cycling show on Saturdays.&nbsp;
