'Disconnected' but appear to be still connected

I have left VM. Have a 'disconnection of services' email. The disconnection date has passed but I appear to be still connected? (Indicators still on, phone line still working). I'm not going to use the services but I'm worried they will continue to charge (at out of contract rates)
