Contract renewal

Short story ... I received an on-line opportunity to extended my contract ... a little more than I'm paying but accepted it. Confirmation of agreement was sent but no update was recorded on my Virgin account. Fast forward... phoned Virgin yesterday ... and was informed that they couldn't match the offer but .... if I agreed to a contract that was £30 (just under) more than I'm currently paying, a discount of said £30 would be applied each month. I refused this offer ... given that I'm funny with contracts and was promptly cut off. Today, I received an e-mail thanking me for accepting the "new contract"! I immediately contacted Virgin ...and was informed ... after a long chat ...  that as I had left O2, this was the best that they could do ... this was the retention department. Having O2 gives you access to the best deals apparently ... who knew. Basically, it was take it or leave it. I'm now looking for a new provider, if anyone can suggest one, I would be grateful ... the only requirement is that any contract should be clear and transparent :)

  • I should add that the contract gave a price £98 a month and no mention was made of the refund.I would simply have to take their word for it.

    Thanks for posting and welcome back to the community. I am sorry to hear of this experience. If you were a Volt customer (having both O2 and Virgin Media services) this would entitle you to any Volt discounts that were available. If not, then we cannot offer you those deals accordingly.
