Contract renewal

Hello,

I've been with VM for about 8 years roughly and I usually get a decent deal around £60-£80 mark.

This year some of the 'deals' are double if not more than what I'm paying now, the discounts seem so poor. I have never had this problem, I have signed up to BT reluctantly but no one has phoned to offer any deals and whenever I contact VM they are not good deals.

I currently have:

1 gig broadband

Bigger bundle and sports, sky sports uhd and tnt sports

Weekend chatter

3 x wifi pods.

I understand since my last contract TNT is now an add on for £18 per month.

My last contract was extremely good at £61, then £65 with April rises. Like I said I've always paid £60-£80. The deals being offered are anything between £120-£140 which is ridiculous.

I don't mind paying a bit extra but not double. I'm due to disconnect in 10 days, is there anyone else I can speak to to try and get a half decent deal? Retentions and the next level retentions so far have offered very little.

Thanks in advance.

Is there a Mrs garthybarthy who could take out a contract for the property at new customer pricing?

There are some possible pitfalls to think about if signing up for new customer pricing under a different name.

There is likely to be downtime as the new order won't be accepted until the original contract is completely cancelled and disconnected.

You need to be aware that if you currrently have a VM landline then you will lose your VM phone number when cancelling.

Also in the unlikely event that there are capacity problems in your area then VM may not be taking on any new connections, or they may be unable to supply speeds above M350.

New equipment will be supplied so that will be a main 360 box and if a second TV box is needed it will either be a 360 mini box which doesn't have a hard drive, or a Flex (Stream) box which works over the internet and also doen't have a hard drive. (Tivo and V6 boxes are no longer supplied to new customers).

TNT Sports has been removed from all packages and is only available as a standalone premium extra for all new customers and anyone recontracting or changing package.

If netflix is included in your package then it will be netflix with ads.

If you have an email account with VM then you’ll lose access to any emails on your Virgin Media account after 90 days once you’ve been disconnected

  • Another thought. You have a very premium package. Could it be slimmed down and rationalised perhaps?
