Contract Renewal

Can somebody help me with a query about contract renewals please?  I've been talking to somebody through whatsapp but getting absolutely nowhere. I wasn't even a difficult question I had.

My contract is up and I have an offer on the My Virgin Media website. The offer says I won't lose anything at all, but on the contract details document you can view there is no mention of TNT Sports being included and the 'offer' price is basically the same price I'm paying now minus £18.00  So I'm assuming because TNT is no longer part of the packages, that I will no longer have that, hence the -£18 'saving'.  So the fact it says I won't lose anything is completely misleading as I will be losing TNT Sports.  I was initially going to go through with this and if it wasn't for not seeing TNT on the contract documents I would have been hoodwinked.  This is disgraceful customer service.

Can someone please confirm my eventual understanding is correct and this 'offer', although I wouldm't call it an offer, is that my new contract would be the same as I have now and the same price, but just without TNT Sports?

  • Hi Smevster thanks for your post here in the Community although we're sorry to hear of your concerns raised here.

The difference is that Maxit TV, has now become Mega TV for newer bundles. The only difference between Maxit TV and Mega TV is that TNT Sport is no longer included within the bundle for free.

Mega TV offers more control in the package in that customers who don't use TNT Sport, can reduce their costs by excluding it.

Does this help at all please, does the renewal state it's Mega TV or Maxit?

It states Maxit TV. The annoying part is on the main page before you click on the "grab this deal" button (or whatever its called) it says I won't lose anything.

Thanks for getting back to us Smevster we can pass this feedback on to the relevant teams. Regarding TNT, I can advise that it was removed from being a part of any package with ourselves at the instruction of the broadcaster.  I appreciate your point isn't regarding that, so as I say the wording on our website etc, will be fed back.  If you wish us to take a look on your behalf, please do reach out to us.

  • I am in the same position. I have the offer where nothing will change showing TNT as an included add-on along with Sky Sports for £107. When I click through and read the contract summary there is no mention of TNT anywhere although Sky Sports is still showing as an add-on. Very shady.

    Knows their stuff

This has been raised several times now. All they have to to is remove the words "you'll not lose anything"/"same package". As it is, it's deliberately set out to deceive. They know about it but havent taken any action. Strange as they'd be taken to the cleaners in a court.

Hi Mr_K thanks for coming back to us.

We understand your concerns.  However, in the past month or so, even our Maxit TV customers have had TNT Sports as an "add-on" and not a part of their Maxit TV package.

Unfortunately Lee_R that’s not the point. The point is, why are you continuing to email customers at renewal time, offering them “the same package you are currently on” when it patently isn’t, because it doesn’t include TNT sports?
