Contract renewal - 'TRIPLE WITH SPORTS' - have Virgin removed TNT Sports or not?
My current contract, which includes TNT Sports, was ending this month and the renewal price was far too high.
I logged in to the Virgin Media site and saw there was an option to renew at a more realistic price with the text clearly stating 'keep your current virgin Media plan without losing anything'.
Having been caught out by Virgin misleading me on a previous renewal I was careful to check what my current package included against the proposed changes before proceeding. In summary:
* the online page for 'my current package' showed that TNT Sports was included as part of the 'Maxit TV' bundle
* my current contract simply listed 'Maxit TV' with no mention of TNT sports being any kind of addon.
* the pre-contract document sent to me by Virgin also simply listed 'Maxit TV'
So having checked the above I proceeded with the website option.
Today I received a 'Thanks for making those changes' email from Virgin that says:
Your new package now includes:
Broadband: TRIPLE WITH SPORTS
We've removed:
TV: TNT Sports
The new contract still just has 'Maxit TV' in the 'Main services' section as before but now has 'TRIPLE WITH SPORTS' in the 'Broadband' section, which was not mentioned in the pre-contract document at all.
I can find no explanation of what 'TRIPLE WITH SPORTS' means on the Virgin Media site. Is this just the new way of including TNT Sports with a TV Package or have Virgin actually removed it as the email suggests, despite assuring me that I would ''keep your current virgin Media plan without losing anything'?
