Contract ends 30/01/2025

Hi all,

My contract ends 30/01/2025 and had a very poor renewal offer. I used the online chat to see if i could get any better but not even close. I have been a very very long term loyal customer who is now fed up of not getting any better deal than new customer so i put my notice to cancel in.

I received a few missed call today but the last one i managed to get.  I was EE as I went looking for deals elsewhere. Got good deal and better news as FTTP should be with me within 3 months.

I don't recognise the other missed call number and not willing to call them back incase they are spam calls but did think VM Retention may try to call.  I would stay with VM if only I would get a good offer but what I have been reading recently I feel this will never happen.

If you do cancel remember you have to give 30 days notice.

As above. It might have been better to just let the VM service transition to undiscounted rolling contract terms for now given that Openreach (OR) is apparently around the corner and then use the new One Touch Switching to move to a new OR provider. It's broadly what I intend to do if OR ever discovers my postcode.

Hi Cardiffman282, With what VM will be charging me to let the service roll is an fortune lol. Not willing to pay that.

EE have said approx 10 working days (probably quicker) from order to install, so I have a small window for VM to offer any sort of deal to stay.  I will have to take the 67 mbps for the first few months until the 1600 mbps is to my home (expected within 3 months or sooner if no delays).

A standard disconnection is on 30days notice - notice given today would normally be effective from approx 12/02/205

Hi Liz30538, I have been with a customer since the beginning of Time and like you have always managed to get a good deal but this time, they don't seem to want to keep you as a customer. I have always used email such as Gmail, outlook and the like due to this very reason.  Your email account should still be active for a time after you contract ends so you could set up a new email from above and get thing setup/migrated over from your current email.. I was thinking that the number is from out going retentions but not sure now after reading here that only a few get the any call. My deadline for any call is Friday to allow for EE to install new BB before VM disconnect.

Hi worf105 thanks for your post although we're sorry to hear of the concerns you've raised here.

We do appreciate your concerns regarding the pricing structure and your wishes to leave - you may be called by our retentions team in the lead-up to your disconnection date but if you do proceed with the disconnection we wish you well for the future.

        Many thanks
