Contract ends 12th September 2025

I am after down grading my package when my contract ends i have been a VM & Telewest before VM took over for over 20 years

I no long want a land line as it is usless as i just receive weekly scam phone call messages

the TV package is also of no use to me anymore as i just use a amazon firestick & free  apple TV from my bank account provider

I only need a broadband deal i have just start claiming Universal Credit and could possibly get a social

tariff but would like a faster connection speed i am also a 02 customer and receive a volt boost on my current broad band speed

  • Hi awarren1 👋.

Thanks for reaching out to us and welcome to the Community Forums. Regarding your package there are many things that can be done, but you have mentioned Social Tariff. As Universal credit is one of the criteria for Social Tariff we do have a few packages available for you 👉 Social, the link will also guide you to the chat option to speak to the dedicated team. As you are also a Volt customer we can look into the prices for just broadband as the price and speeds may benefit you more than Social Tariff.

For this we would need to bring you in for a private message, please look out for the envelope on the top right of your web browser or if you are using a mobile device, it will be located under your profile icon.

    Thanks.

You can't get a deal on here, so you will have to phone in and do the discussion with Retentions. They will try very hard to keep you on an expensive contract, so arm yourself first with a few quotations with other suppliers.

This bit is fine, but be aware VM operate a multi-bundle discounting system where additional services often reduce the per-unit cost. Nowhere is this more evident than with landlines where a "with" bundle often costs less than a "without" one.

They can also sometimes be useful in having an alternative phone should your mobile ever have issues, avoiding you being otherwise stranded. No-one's forcing you to have a physical phone plugged in, if that's what you'd prefer.

VM offfers social tariff broadband which provides up to 54Mbps for £20pm. There is the Flex option with the Stream box for the same price but with a one-off £10 set-up, good if you are subscribing to apps as you get 10% back.

If it's unsuitable and you can't find better with VM, then leave.
