  • Hello croma

Thank you for taking the time to contact us in regard to your contract ending and cancelling the services, we appreciate you taking the time raise this via the forums.

From the date give of the 24th of April 2025, as we require 30 days' notice to cancel without Early disconnection fee's we'd recommend contacting the team on the 23rd of March 2025 so the contract is closed on the end date.

      Hi croma

Thanks for getting back to us.

I can help in arranging the account disconnection for you from your contract expiration date if that's what you're looking to do 😊

I've sent you over a private message so I can help from there.

I have also tried to contact via WhatsApp with no reply

  • Hi croma, as a Recovering Survivor of Virgin Media's service, I can offer a warning.  They might assure you that they are not going to add extra termination charges because you are out of contract, and then just apply those charges anyway, and get a debt collector to chase you.  It took me a total of 35 hours of dealing with Virgin and debt collectors to end the ordeal.

They eventually told me the fault lies with their automated billing software, so this is likely to be a systematic error which affects many other customers.

I am currently in the process of trying to get them to fix their automated billing software and telling debt collectors that they should not trust claims of debt from Virgin, because I don't want other customers to suffer as I have.  But I am sensing that they rather like things the way they are, so I'm not holding out much hope.

    Good luck!

If you simply wish to cancel, with no further negotiation or discussion with VM …

You can cancel your services by post as per info below

      https://www.virginmedia.com/help/leaving/

You can send your leaving request by post to:

      Virgin Media, Sunderland, SR43 4AA

Use a first-class, tracked delivery service. This will give you a date/time of delivery when you gave VM your 30 days’ notice to cancel. Also keep a record of the tracking number. I have found that RM signed-for services are a dead loss these days and rarely get a signature so use a service that tracks and confirms delivery.

Be aware though, giving notice to finish on the end date of your minimum term does not mean an instant end to dealings with VM in the sense that the final billing, return of equipment etc. only happens once you are disconnected. You also need to consider your billing periods and direct debit dates as part of the process. Usual advice is to leave the direct debit in place until you are certain all of your dealings with VM are concluded.

Follow @goslow advice above. Post it at least 30 days before the last day of your contract. Simples.
