Help with inconsistent upload speeds - Low power levels?
I'm currently on the Gig1 service, which always gives me the full speed of approx 1000-1100Mbps download. However I'm noticing the upload speed keeps dropping to around 15-20Mbps. I'm able to obtain a 100 upload around 50% of the time. I checked my power levels and logs as per below: 3.0 Downstream channels Channel Frequency (Hz) Power (dBmV) SNR (dB) Modulation Channel ID 1 355000000 3.8 40 QAM 256 28 2 171000000 8.3 40 QAM 256 5 3 179000000 8.0 40 QAM 256 6 4 187000000 7.9 40 QAM 256 7 5 195000000 7.8 40 QAM 256 8 6 203000000 7.6 40 QAM 256 9 7 211000000 7.4 40 QAM 256 10 8 219000000 7.1 40 QAM 256 11 9 227000000 6.8 40 QAM 256 12 10 235000000 6.4 40 QAM 256 13 11 243000000 5.9 40 QAM 256 14 12 251000000 5.6 40 QAM 256 15 13 259000000 5.5 40 QAM 256 16 14 267000000 5.4 40 QAM 256 17 15 275000000 5.3 40 QAM 256 18 16 283000000 5.2 40 QAM 256 19 17 291000000 5.1 40 QAM 256 20 18 299000000 4.9 40 QAM 256 21 19 307000000 4.8 40 QAM 256 22 20 315000000 4.5 40 QAM 256 23 21 323000000 4.2 39 QAM 256 24 22 331000000 3.8 40 QAM 256 25 23 339000000 3.6 40 QAM 256 26 24 347000000 3.7 40 QAM 256 27 25 363000000 3.8 40 QAM 256 29 26 371000000 3.9 40 QAM 256 30 27 379000000 3.8 40 QAM 256 31 28 387000000 3.7 40 QAM 256 32 29 395000000 3.3 40 QAM 256 33 30 403000000 2.9 40 QAM 256 34 31 411000000 2.4 39 QAM 256 35 32 419000000 2.1 39 QAM 256 36 3.0 Downstream channels Channel Locked Status RxMER (dB) Pre RS Errors Post RS Errors 1 Locked 40 4 0 2 Locked 40 0 0 3 Locked 40 2 0 4 Locked 40 0 0 5 Locked 40 0 0 6 Locked 40 0 0 7 Locked 40 2 0 8 Locked 40 1 0 9 Locked 40 2 0 10 Locked 40 0 0 11 Locked 40 6 0 12 Locked 40 0 0 13 Locked 40 2 0 14 Locked 40 0 0 15 Locked 40 1 0 16 Locked 40 2 0 17 Locked 40 2 0 18 Locked 40 0 0 19 Locked 40 3 0 20 Locked 40 0 0 21 Locked 39 3 0 22 Locked 40 2 0 23 Locked 40 0 0 24 Locked 40 0 0 25 Locked 40 0 0 26 Locked 40 0 0 27 Locked 40 0 0 28 Locked 40 0 0 29 Locked 40 0 0 30 Locked 40 0 0 31 Locked 39 0 0 32 Locked 39 0 0 3.1 Downstream channels Channel Channel Width (MHz) FFT Type Active Subcarriers Modulation First Active Subcarrier (Hz) 159 94 4K 1840 QAM 4096 1108 3.1 Downstream channels Channel ID Locked Status RxMER (dB) PLC Power (dBmV) Corrected Errors Uncorrectable Errors 159 Locked 39 -3.4 122448570 0 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.0 Upstream channels Channel Frequency (Hz) Power (dBmV) Symbol Rate (ksps) Modulation Channel ID 0 49600000 40.3 5120 QAM 64 1 1 43100000 39.8 5120 QAM 64 2 2 36600000 38.8 5120 QAM 64 3 3 30100000 38.3 5120 QAM 64 4 4 23600000 38.5 5120 QAM 64 5 3.0 Upstream channels Channel Channel Type T1 Timeouts T2 Timeouts T3 Timeouts T4 Timeouts 0 ATDMA 0 0 0 0 1 ATDMA 0 0 0 0 2 ATDMA 0 0 0 0 3 ATDMA 0 0 0 0 4 ATDMA 0 0 4 0 3.1 Upstream channels Channel Channel Width (MHz) Power (dBmV) FFT Type Modulation 6 10 34.5 2K QAM 256 3.1 Upstream channels Channel Channel Type Active Subcarriers First Active Subcarrier (Hz) T3 Timeouts T4 Timeouts 6 OFDMA 200 74000000 0 0 I'm also getting a lot of these warnings in my hub logs. DBC-REQ Mismatch Between Calculated Value for P1.6hi Compared to CCAP Provided Value;CM US profile assignment change. US Chan ID: 6; Previous Profile: 12 13; New Profile: 11 13.;CM US profile assignment change. US Chan ID: 6; Previous Profile: 11 13; New Profile: 12 13.;CM These happen about every 2-3 hours, and I believe they might be related to the issue. Is the US profile referring to upstream? Also I'm noticing the power levels for my upstream generally drops by about 1dBmV and goes back up again to the tables above. I'm particularly concerned at the DOCSIS 3.1 Upstream channel power being at 34.5, dropping to 33.5 during the day. Does that sound a bit low? I did have an engineer to check out the inconstant upload, but it was showing 100Mbps at the time of their arrival. Typical! They checked the connections and while they found some dirt in the outside junction box, everything else was fine. We did a hub factory reset and everything too, but I am not sure if they checked the power levels. I've already booked another visit as the issue is not resolved. Can someone confirm whether these power levels are ok, and if these logs could be related? I'm certain it's not an internal network issue, as the problem exists on both LAN and WiFi, and since my download is always 1000+, my connections are solid.141Views0likes9CommentsHub 3.0 Internet(Partial Service (US only)) - lower number of Upstream bonded channels

Dear Community, I would like to say thank you to anyone involved, and a big thank you for your time spent. I appreciate any work on this, especially since the issue began impacting me more when I started working from home occasionally. Also, online gaming become very frustrating. Problem: Internet dropping, lost packages, intermittent connection (a few years already) More info: It is happening on all devices, x2 wired PCs, and x2 laptops on wifi, and mobile phones. I have called Viring Media about it and they came and replaced my old hub with version 5 but still the same. I have been with Viring Media for the past 5 years and I noticed the issue about 3 years ago. The internet will work fine for a few hours straight until it starts to drop. The lost connection is intermittent, it will work for 1 minute just to stop for 20-30 seconds and again and gain from at least 10-15 minutes and then back to working again for another few hours. I am attaching some data that I have seen was useful on other similar threads. When I experience the issues I see this when pinging bbc. The Windows tray icon will show no internet. These were taken from the HUB when the internet was working fine, I can try to capture when this is happening if needed. Does anyone see something wrong here? Many thanks for all your help.
