One day into V360 and TV not working
Hello, I set up my Virgin 360 remote last night, I wasn't hugely keen on the formatting but everything worked. Tonight the box comes on but the television screen remains resolutely blank, completely black. The TV power indicator will flick if I press the TV button on the remote but won't turn off, now will the 360 remote turn on the TV if it is off off at the back. When the red TV power button is on I cannot cycle through inputs to get to HDMI1 like I used to. I have, not necessarily in this order: Changed the batteries in the remote. Turned everything off, waited, rebooted. Turned everything off, re-powered the television and then the box. Checked the HDMI leads. Re-paired the remote with the box, the box does come on and the light changes to white. No matter what I press on the remote there are no lights appearing on the box in the small screen to the left of the white light. Done the factory reset on the remote. So having had a happily working Tivo box and television last night I now have nothing, it is not the brave new world I was hoping for. My Hub 3 has suddenly become insecure. We run a Deco Mesh system round the house which is secure but the actual Hub is not. I have tried rebooting and also a factory reset but nothing works. I either get a black screen by typing 192.168.0.1 , or “Safari Can’t Open the Page” by typing 192.168.100.1. There are so many conflicting and highly confusing comments to wade through, but I just want to access the admin page and work out why we are suddenly insecure. I can access the internet through the Hub but it keeps disappearing from the WiFi list when trying to find it. I’m totally frazzled!!! Do we need a new Hub? I’ve read a couple of threads on this now and it seems the only way I can get it resolved is by posting on here ! The solutions seem to be varied. So we have had our new Virgin 360 box for 3 months. All installed by Virgin with a new Broadband service. Very regularly when we start the Netflix app, the app freezes and then the TV service just crashes with a black screen of death. A reboot of the box just results in the ‘welcome screen’ starting and then that vanishes after about 10 seconds and reverts to a black screen. Calls to customer service result in an engineer being booked as they cannot identify the problem. But annoyingly the fault seems to rectify itself in a few hours so we cancel the engineer (to avoid the charges!). But this is now too regular to be just a glitch.
