remove add-on
Why is it impossible to remove an add-on. My contract currently has a 30 day rolling add-on for tnt sports and I'm looking to cancel that. Not possible to do this online or via the app. Tried the contact centre and so far 1 hour on call to them and 4 different departments all not able to remove tnt sports. It's a very simple request how can I remove an add-on I no longer want?TNT Package as part of Eurosport Closure
My Mother has been sent an email recently to confirm that she is being given the TNT Sports package for free for the remainder of her contract as way of goodwill of the closure of Eurosport. However she has tried to tune in to TNT (using the new channel numbers) but she gets a pop up alert asking her to click subscribe. She is hesitant to click on this acceptance as it presumes doing so would trigger a charge ? She has tried to contact support via 150 but has become exasperated and upset as she is faced with numerous options to choose and each time gets entertained with hold music for upto 35 minutes before giving up hope and hanging up. Each time this happens she gets text'd a link for her to download the My Virgin App, which she already has, but there is no support or guidance available there. All that she wants to do is speak with a human. Has anyone else gone through the process of being given TNT as part of the Eurosport closure, and have experienced the same, or can confirm what is required to activate this 'gift' ? My mother is becoming more and more distressed, and obviously I'm unable to attempt resolve with VM on her behalf due to data privacy reasonsOnline Recontract - removing TNT sports
I just reconstructed myself online for broadband and TV, with an upgrade of my broadband speed to Gig1 for an excellent price. I have all the contract documents etc. However, I was unable to remove TNT sports which is £18 a month and I don’t use (contract information stipulates 30 day monthly rolling so I figured I could remove any time). Calling them is useless. Last time I recontracted online and wanted to make an adjustment they cancelled the whole thing and it took many phone calls and much frustration to get the original online deal price back. Could someone at VM help me do this? Thanks128Views0likes4CommentsUnable to remove TNT add on
I have been unable to remove my TNT add on from my account. I have spoken to 3 members of the virgin team via phone, who advised doing this online. It is not possible to untick the box for this add on when attempting to change my account. Please advise.90Views0likes3CommentsCan I remove an add-on from an automatic renewal offer without calling CS?
Hello all, and Merry Christmas. For background, I received an email in June explaining that because I hadn't watched TNT Sports (included in my Maxit TV package at the time) it was being removed "to provide the best value entertainment." Smelling a bit of corporate manure I looked into this and, sure enough, the real reason turned out to be a pricing war between Virgin and TNT in response to which Virgin Media appeared to be removing dormant subscribers to save itself a few bob without actually admitting so. I hate this sort of half-truth manipulation and so I had TNT Sports re-added to my subscription as a matter of principle. I still wasn't watching it, but I had effectively paid for it as part of an 18-month contract and I don't like being misled in goalpost-moving emails. Cut to this month and it looks as though my principles may have bitten me on the backside (and not for the first time, to be fair). My contract renews in early January and I've been offered what appears to be a reasonably generous one-click discount on an 18-month renewal. It's not quite as good as the deals I've negotiated in the past by phoning up and haggling, but it's within a few quid per month and pretty good considering I had two legacy custom discounts on the old package. And it would almost be worth paying a small premium to avoid having to hang on the phone for an hour and play the flirting game with Retentions. The problem is that because I have TNT Sports on my existing package, this has been added to the new deal as part of the renewal offer. There is some conflicting information as to whether this is included in the overall TV package going forward; the renewal page says it is but also refers to the package as Maxit which is the old name under which TNT Sports was indeed included before the corporate spat. Meanwhile all of the CS and user feedback in this forum says it isn't part of any renewal package (Mega?) and I'm minded to think that the forum experts are more likely correct. All of which means that renewal offer almost certainly includes a premium for TNT Sports as an add-on, an add-on I do not need nor wish to pay for. And because of the way the web page works, I can upgrade the package to include more add-ons but I can't remove any. (That little one-sided 'quirk' is something I would love for Martin Lewis / Ofcom to look into like they did with opaque April price rises, but that's a conversation for another day). My suspicion is that if I phoned CS and explained all this, I might be in with a fair chance of getting the renewal deal sans TNT Sports with a few quid knocked off, similar to deals I've had in the past. But I was really, really hoping to avoid the phone game this year. Is there any way that the offer can be 'tweaked' to remove TNT Sports with the aid of the CS reps here, or should I start warming up my phone flirting persona and bracing for an hour in the hold queue? Thanks.Solved2.6KViews0likes2CommentsSports Upgrade Has Resulted In Lost Channels
A few days ago, I spotted in my account an option to upgrade to Sky Sports HD at an extra £4 a month, which I decided to do to see out the remaining few months of my contract. I then received an email confirmation to say I would be losing TNT Sports. I contacted an adviser on web chat who said I wouldn’t be losing any channels. Yesterday, I noticed Sky Sports HD was activated but the TNT Sports channels were gone. I contacted an adviser again on web chat to ask Virgin to fulfil the agreement until the end of my contract and to reinstate TNT as it’s part of my Maxit package. They said they could reinstate TNT but the price per month would increase by £18, but I also suspect they have also put me on a new 18 month contract without my consent. I don’t think this is how customers should be treated. I would rather not go back on webchat as I was not treated particularly well and I was going round and round in circles with the person I spoke to. Is there anyone I could possibly speak to on here to resolve this? I did not want a new contract at a higher price, I just want my old contract reinstated.1.7KViews0likes3Comments
