First wifi pod has not given my house full coverage (Gig1 package)
I have just moved into a new house which has struggled for connection throughout the house. We had a wifi pod delivered which has partially improved the issue but there are still areas of the house with little to no connection. I did the wifi speed tests on the Connect App but don't have the option to order additional pods. I read we need to have had the first pod for a certain amount of time for this option? Considering there are still areas of the house with zero connection I think this matter is fairly urgent but I can't seem to find any urgent remedies. I was told that this package (Gig1) means I am eligible for more pods so I don't know why their is no option to order them. Very disappointed with the VM experience so far, starting to wish I considered BT.67Views0likes7CommentsAnyone on Gig1 Fibre still on DOCSIS 3.0 with a Hub 5?
Hey everyone, I’m on the Volt Gig1 Fibre package and using a Hub 5, which I thought would be running on DOCSIS 3.1 by default. But when I check my modem status, it looks like the downstream is still locked on SC-QAM, which I believe means it’s using DOCSIS 3.0 instead of 3.1. Just curious — is anyone else on Gig1 seeing the same thing? Or is your Hub 5 actually bonding to DOCSIS 3.1 (OFDM)? If you’ve managed to get 3.1 working properly, did you have to contact Virgin to push an update or reprovision your connection? Or did it just switch over automatically for you? Appreciate any insights. I’m just trying to make sure I’m getting the most out of the package and hardware. 😊 Thanks in advance!79Views0likes2CommentsLonger coax cable
Hello, I’ve had Gig1 wifi for some time now and have been meaning to enquire about getting a coax cable extension to have the router moved to a more suitable place in the home. I am unable to make phone calls due to the hours I work, is there a live chat I can use to request an extension cable or do virgin employees respond on here? Any help is appreciated!487Views0likes2CommentsPoor VPN speed
Hi, On gig1 service with hub 5 and now subbed to 4 supposedly fast vpn's (proton, surfshark, nord & express) but the best result I've had is 230mbps on surfshark. Native ISP is 1143 confirmed with samknows reslspeed. Yesterday bought TP-Link AXE75 and connected up to modem mode but only got similar or worse with all VPN on and off was down on router mode max 853. I know the 2.5 gig port has issue. I had an unmanaged switch so had connection problems. So got a managed switch coming that can disable EEE. But Ive read this still only allows gig traffic through the 2.5 gig port. Need Virgin to fix firmware. I'm still on the dodgy version :(. Any advice on how to increase my VPN speed? Support has got me to try things but nothing has worked so far. Always 1 VPN at once and to nearest Manchester server. Thanks in advance.Solved3.9KViews0likes25Comments
