What cabling to add during a refurbishment to use virgin internet and television
Hi We had virgin TV, telephone and internet prior to moving out while our home was extended and refurbished. We will be getting the same again with Virgin when we move back in in a couple of months, but this will be starting again as we cancelled as we were well outside our minimum period. We are in a Virgin cable area. We want internet cabling to some rooms both upstairs and downstairs so we are not totally reliant on WiFi. We also want a TV in our largest spare bedroom. And we’ll have a TV in our lounge. Our builder has asked what types of cabling is compatible with Virgin media hardware for internet. Is there any special cabling required? For the TVs what do Virgin Media current TV boxes need, is it an aerial cable or do they run off a hardwired internet? Any advice anyone can give is gratefully received. Thanks CBeeNo welcome email and account number
Hi there, I have placed my order online on last Thursday 30/5. Although I received my contract information, there was no welcome email and account number for me to create my online account. I just want to make sure my order is correctly placed and receive the device tomorrow.Solved64KViews1like49CommentsBought a house & can't get connected due to planning?
Purchased a house, organised Virgin Media broadband to be connected on the 30th October, it's now the 8th September and no one's come out to take a look to see what's required and I wasn't told there was a delay to the connection from the 30th, it's only because i've been obsessively calling. Today I was told that the enabling work was completed on Friday (???? i've not seen any construction work or enabling works?????) and we're due to be connected on the 11th. I've been through multiple different calls, emails, online chat sessions, and no one can tell me how long it would take for me to get connected. One chap told me the 11th, but then a few seconds later saying 6-8 weeks. I just want clarity on how long this will take and why wasn't this raised when I first enquired?Extending virgin cabling
Hi, tried to call earlier and couldn't get past the automated choices, Hopefully the team picks this up as I'm looking to book an engineer to extend the cable as I've moved the TV, I want to keep the Virgin socket where it is as my router is staying put, just extend the tv cabling so I can relocate the Vbox Thanks in advanceIssues reconnecting after moving home
We've recently moved but unfortunately the cable service hasn't been connected. The contractor arrived at the property before we moved to install the cabling. We were assured this wouldn't happen but unfortunately, the wall box in the wrong location (under the level of the floorboards of the room the cabling will be fed into). Additionally, the cabling was laid in the soil just below the surface of the grass (which may be hit by the lawnmower) and the wall box wasn't secured. After a week or trying to speak to someone, I'm unsure what to do. I've communicated via the customer help lines (voice and web chat) and the engineer that has been out twice isn't the correct person to (re)connect the cabling. The engineer that has visited has tried to help but nothing has been actioned since. I've put in a complaint but this hasn't been answered yet.75Views0likes2CommentsBroken connector on white cable
I have had to move the hub and when I am trying to reattach the white cable it will not connect and stay in, I have tried speaking to customer fault line as think will need a new cable but they are unable to hear me, what would anyone suggest to get this sorted We have MODEL HUB 5x/ F5685LGB-VMB Thanks for any adviceIssue with initial install
Hi all, Just needed some help, I've had issues with my install and due to my job I cannot get an engineer out till the 6th of September as this is the earliest they can do where someone will be at home within working hours, sadly because I work at a school in a different city I wouldnt be home in their operational hours. But I want to enquire on here if there may perhaps be a simple fix. So effectively this is the only thing I can see that resembles a wall socket and it seems that the plug is damaged beyond use, but it also seems to be like the home hub connect is there anywhere or anyplace where I could get this replacement without waiting till the 6th for an engineer. Many thanks, AshMissing power adaptor for ONU box
I recently ordered VM and have the hub delivered today. I have an optical outlet in the wall that goes to the ONU box which then connects to the hub with the supplied coax cable. i am missing the power supply for the white ONU box, and not sure what spec the replacement one should be? I have also had to order a new fiber optic cable from the outlet to the ONU box. hopefully this will allow me to get started once I have all these. thanksSolved
