Changing the cable length

I'm moving where my hub 5 is positioned in my house and need to cut the cable so that I can plug the hub back in.

Can I do this myself, if so what tool and/or connectors do I need?

Or can I get a VM engineer to do this?

Thanks, Matt

You should not do it, all modifications should be done by VM. They will do it for £25.

The primary place to report faults or for service requests is Customer Services on 0345 454 1111/150 if you have a VM landline or wait two or three days for a VM staff member to get to your post. This board is not a fault reporting system nor a direct line to VM.

  • Hi MattBruton 👋 Welcome to the community forum! Thanks for joining and making your first post.

As the community have already correctly advised, you will need a special request engineers appointment which has a chargeable call out fee of £25.

The Engineer will be able to relocate your hub and fix any cabling so your set up is as you'd like it.
I will send you a PM to confirm a few details and get this arranged for you. Please keep an eye on your Inbox 📩 in the top right corner of the page for a message offering help.

We can return to this public thread to keep it updated when possible. Thanks for your patience and co-operation in the meantime! 🌞
