Landline fault of vulnerable person!
Mother-in-law is in her late 80's and relies on phone for contact with family and carers. She has a Telecare falls monitor but I believe that is working off a mobile signal. There is no dial tone at the house and if you ring the number it shows as engaged constantly. There doesn't appear to be a fault with the phone handset, it seems to be a problem with the line. I checked online and no faults have been recorded in her area, but I cannot find anywhere on the Virgin Media site to report a simple line phone fault without going into account holder details. I've have contacted 150 but the AI sends you around in circles trying the different options. When I finally get through to an operator, they can't find her account, then tell me their carrying out line checks, only to be disconnected after 25 mins. Could I have some help please?23Views0likes1CommentLandline Crackling/Static noise.
Good evening. For the past 4 days we have had no dial tone on the landline phone so i purchased just a basic phone to check the line and all i am hearing is crackling then it goes dead then back to crackling. The phone is plugged into the master socket and their are no extensions from it. Also have checked the service status page and it says there is no issues with phones in my area. Thank you.52Views0likes5CommentsNo Dial Tone
We had a message on our home number which said 'Check Phone Line' and there is no dial tone. All the cables are fully in the sockets with power and new batteries. I suspect there is a fault as we had crackling for a number of days before the phone went completely dead. How do I book an engineer? The main line is connected to the main telephone socket.Solved87Views0likes5CommentsNo dial tone, calling it from mobile immediately drops call without any ringing tone
Hi, My landline has no dial tone and, even more interestingly, call to that number from my mobile immediately drops the call without ringing out or hearing any ringing tone on the mobile (neither does it sound engaged - as it immediately disconnects). It is NOT the landline phone itself, there is crackling on the line and faint background noise - and it not being plugged in has the very same behaviour when landline number if called. Service status shows no problem with any of my services. Has anybody had this recently? Getting hold of VM is virtually impossible as usual... of course. Thanks for any VM staff that might pick this up via forum... one can only hope.Solved745Views0likes6Comments
