Setting up phone in new house

So, I moved into my new house in May. At first, I didn't want to bother with a landline, but now my Mum is saying she can't hear me when I ring her on my mobile, so I need to set up my landline. I tried plugging my phone into the socket on the wall but it says "out of range" and there's no dial tone. Please can somebody help?!!

  • Hello sreah

Thanks for posting in regards to adding a landline to your package, we're happy to assist with this via the forums.

If there is no landline element in your package a handset won't work, it may also be that the account is set up for the landline to work via the Hub if added. Do you know which package you're looking to add? The ones available can be found here .

I will send you a Private Message, please keep an eye out in the top right when signed into the forums for the envelope. This is where you will be able to find my Private Message and be able to respond.

We have Enabled Wi-Fi Calling on our mobile phones,
this means the voice quality is loud and clear in both directions.

I don't know how old your mother is, but mine is in her late 80s,
and needs hearing aids in and a good loud speaker phone to be
able to hear calls regardless of if it is us or the GP etc etc !

She's only in her 60's and has no hearing problems. I have enabled WiFi calling, it makes no difference. I can hear her fine because she's on a landline, but she can't hear me. There's like a time delay or something. I'd rather get a landline set up, makes things easier.
