Wonder if someone can help, I have spoken to different VM Staff on the phone and been told contradictory information.
Recently we renegotiated our deal with VM, was a bit if a saga and we had issues with being told incorrect information and prices. Eventually was resolved.
When speaking to each member of staff in this process I asked about the O2 sim we have and that it is due to expire on 6/1/24 and when it does if we can renegotiate with O2 without it affecting our VM deal. Two staff stated we could and the other staff member who eventually resolved our VM deal issues stated 'technically I have to make you aware you must remain on the O2 Ultimate sim but I'm aware other customers have been able to change their deal with O2 without it affecting the VM deal' (or words to that effect).
When we sign into O2 it states we can upgrade or change our sim. This would be ideal as we can reduce the price and also get new added benefits like Apple TV, Disney+, etc. All O2 do is refer you back to VM when you ask them about the impact changing the deal with them could have with VM.
However I cannot get a straight answer from VM about whether if we moved from the 'Unlimited' O2 sim if this in any way affects our new 18 month contract with VM.
Can any VM staff member clarify this for me?

I too would be interested in the answer. I also have an o2 SIM which comes out of the o2 contract in March 24. But my VM contract expires in November 24. If I look at my contract within the "My Virgin Media" website the SIM is excluded. If I look at the "My Virgin Media" App it implies the SIM is included.
In March we want to downgrade the o2 SIM rather than pay the current large fee.
Any comments gratefully received.

Hi Paul + Bill,
When I moved from Ultimate Oomph to Volt and it was £25 a month for the unlimited use I just went with it then got the message from O2 it was going up. I phoned O2 retentions and the girl I spoke to looked at my usage and offered me different use options that I could keep the Volt benefits with and as it was a 'new' contract I could get another 6 months of Disney + free, so if you use Disney + consider when you might want to switch.

Also, if I wanted to move my SIM to another provider, would there be a knock on effect? My contract does not include the SIM:

You need to keep your O2 SIM if want to receive any Volt benefits AFAIK.

That's the issue, no-one from VM seems capable or willing to clarify this or point out where contractually this is a requirement. We don't mind keeping the O2 sim just not on the deal we have at the moment, O2 state we can re-negotiate no problem but when we ask if a new deal affects our VM contract they just refer us back to VM who can't or won't give a consistent answer.
My contract does not state anywhere about it being linked to an O2 sim that I can see but one of my discounts is a 'volt discount' which I think is in some way linked to O2. As I say keeping with O2 is not the issue really, the issue is if we go away from the 'unlimited' sim deal does that affect our VM deal?
This lack of clarity from VM is really annoying and unfair. Can a VM staff member please clarify the company's position or who we can email (not call as that never works) to get a definitive answer?

I originally had the unlimited sim and then got a message from O2 saying there was a price increase so I phoned O2 (selected the leaving option), and went down to £13 a month keeping my Volt benefits and as it was a 'new' contract got Disney+ free again.

I think we will have to do the same, funny no VM staff are touching the thread. No-one at VM seems to know what they are doing in this regard. It really shouldn't be that difficult finding out clear and concise information from a 'communication' company.

Hey Paul1224, thank you for reaching out and I am sorry to hear this.
With the O2 sim we have no way we can negotiate a new deal for you right now as we do not have access to any of the O2 tools right now.
You can contact O2 on 0344 809 0202.

I appreciate the reply Matt but that doesn't answer the question. Only VM know if moving from the Ultimate O2 SIM affects our VM deal. O2 are happy to renegotiate but state the VM deal is with VM so we need to speak to them if worried changing will impact our deal. You state speak to O2 yet the deal that could be affected is with VM. This leaves us nowhere.
