V6 Boxes and Sky Sports+ Frustrations

Hi,

This is more a frustrated shout out to Virgin themselves regarding the new Sky+ channel if you have a V6 box. 

I don't get it that you you can't receive the red button functions on this channel on a V6 box however I dont want to lose all my recordings on one of my old V6 boxes just to have this function.

I have two boxes one which I record on and one just in another room for viewing but cant change one box, I have to change both if I have 360. 

My son has 360 and has a multitude of issues with it, slowness sync etc etc...

You cant cast Sky Sports+ App from  Mac to  tv.

Surely an easy solution would be to have the Sky Sports App available on the V6 box???

Sort it Virgin, speak to Sky if you need,  bite the bullet

The background apps on VM boxes for Sky Sports are Sky's problem. They have to develop & pay for them.

There have been hints we may get a "partial" service (multiscreen) but don't count on it. Considering Sky have already done the same to a whole load of their own customers that have legacy Sky+HD boxes & also can't get Sky Sports+ functionality, it doesn't bode well for us

Another problem I'm having is I have the App on my Mac and its only letting me see the game on ch508  cant change it!

And now pictures is frozen - absolute crap!

I was at a game last night so couldn’t test the functionality on my V6 but if you press the red button on 508 and then info, you get the choice of games like last season. Not as nice looking as the new functionality but I’m sticking with it because I don’t want 360.

Wow that worked fine - thanks despite Virgin saying it wouldn't. They said no red button functionality on 508 on their website.

Quality is a bit iffy on some of the games but not all. Weird.

It also never worked last night cos I tried it!

The old red button app is still working for the EFL games on my V6. It's the old satellite feed, but the fact Sky are still maintaining it could be good news.

Red Button from either 503 or 508:

Cardiff C v Sunderland

Hull v Bristol C

Middlesbro v Swansea

Millwall v Watford

It demonstrates that Sky have some commitment to VM to provide additional services on the V6 as much as the TV360.

As to what those commitments are, and how they translate into developments, we can only speculate. Although football is not my thing, combining this with VM's commitment on this forum to provide the HD-multiscreen on V6 - I take as encouraging overall.

V6 red button also offered 3 additional L1 games at Peterborough, Wigan and Leyton Orient. Unsure if any additional L2 games were available as I was at one of those games. Guessing we might get all the 12.30 Saturday games available via the red button on V6 from next weekend. Only downside is the SD feed, but still more than I was expecting.

So tonight is the league cup. Total of 32 games being played. I think we have 2 games live on channels and 8 on sky sport plus on red button. Where are the rest????  We are meant to have all games live.
