Fast forward skipping / jumping forward

Hello, I have noticed a problem with the fast forward function. Sometimes when fast forwarding, the programme skips forward 10-15mins. When you rewind it goes back to the original position. So the one way to get through that part of the programme is to watch it in real time.

This doesn't happen all the time. Seems to happen more often during long, sport recordings. Particularly when in 4K. 

I have a V6 box. I haven't upgraded to 360 (don't want to lose recordings and series links, and don't like the look of the UI).

Any ideas what is going wrong? Thank you.

P.S. have tested on my other V6 box in another room. Recorded the same rugby match on they box, and I get the same issue. Happens at a similar place in the recording. Rather annoying when it spoils the result of the game!

Are you sure you're not accidentally pressing the index-jump button on your remote? The time interval on the index points varies depending how long the recording is, but it would explain some of your symptoms

Hi Japitts, thank you for your reply. Yes, definitely not pressing any other buttons. I'm certain it's a bug in the software. Seems to particularly impact 4K recordings.  Happens on both my V6 boxes and the same with a family member. Doesn't happen on all 4K recordings but is fairly regular. Any other ideas? Thank you.

Sorry to hear that you're having some issues with your recordings when you try to fast forward the recording. 

Do you have any issues when rewinding/fast forwarding on live live? Any issues at all when you pause your recordings and live TV?  

Did you try another HDMI cable when you tested the recording in another room?
