pairing 360 remote with v6 box/tv

I have tried pairing by holding down TV and 0 and I get a screen message saying pairing successful but this is not so as there is no volume control.

I have also tried factory reset. I have tried settings but the test does not recognise my Linsar26LVD whether I use 4 characters or 6. 

I have tried the non model specific pairing test  but I do not get a mute effect either temporarily or permanently and my old remote still rules on volume. The 360remote only arrived on Friday so I am not going to change the batteries.

I have spent ages on 150 and engineers have been working on the software in the background today and have sent me a text to say all is well .It clearly is not . How to get an engineer to arrive at the house? Please help.

Hi. Best way getting engineer is using the app, just follow the problem steps.

Thanks for the advice Kevw13. I shall remember that for the future. I have the number of a virgin engineer but he is now working internally and insists that I go through customer service <groan>. Anyway I somehow fixed the pairing this morning- no idea how, perhaps I was helped by the prominent moon!
