We like to use subtitles quite often when watching the TV. Since we installed the 360 box, I have noticed that if I actually record a programme, I can get subtitles, but if I stream it I can't. This can happen with the same series, so obviously the channel is providing subtitles. I have used both the remote and 'asking' for the subtitles but get a response that these aren't available. Is there a way round this?
I expect some older programmes may not have them, but before we had the 360 box I don't remember this problem happening so frequently.

Which channels are you referring to? BBC ITV and sky channels all have subs online

Hi @Cubit, thank you for your post.
We're sorry to hear about the problems you're experiencing 😔
If you could please confirm the channels you're referring to, as asked by @1701-e, that'd be much appreciated.
Advice on how to control the subtitle settings on your 360 box can be found in this article here.

I am also having problems with subtitles on streaming. I am watching The Jackal through TV SHOWS (or by selecting it from my previous searches). Sometimes I get subtitles, and sometimes not. When the subtitles are present, the "..." menu offers the Subtitles option, but when they are not present, the "..." menu does not have a Subtitles option to turn them on. Episode 4 HAS subtitles, but episode 5 does NOT have them! It is very annoying! Can you explain why?

I just checked episode 6, and it has subtitles! I went back through all the episodes I have watched; they all have subtitles except episode 2 and episode 5. Something very strange is happening with just those two! I don't know if episode 7 or later has them or not ... I guess I will find out!

Hi @Iklein
Welcome to the community forums
Sorry to hear that you're having issues with subtitles on some of the episodes you're watching.
Just to confirm, is this for The Day of the Jackal or another show?
Is this on your set top box or over the TVGO app?

I can never receive subtitles on the ultra channels 175 & 999. Although my TV is not ultra, I can watch the channels fine - just without the subs.
So, I can never watch those channels as my hearing is not 100% - big shame as there is a lot of good stuff on there!

Hi @45RPM thanks for your post although we're sorry you're unable to use the Subtitles feature on the Ultra HD Channels.
Unfortunately, Subtitles are not always available on every channel or TV show - it is the broadcaster that provides these but we will of course pass on your feedback.
Many thanks

Hi Carley
It is through the TV. Jut watched episode 7, and it has subtitles (phew). I have not seen the on other shows, just Jackal.
Many thanks

... to be clear, "through the TV" means using a set top box and a television!
Cheers
