I recently upgraded my service to Virgin 360 and paired the box with my Denon receiver (AVR X2800) and found that it constantly turned on zone 2, which I don't use. This caused the receiver to not turn off properly, leaving zone 2 active.
I found that pairing instead with the TV and then setting up a new setting to control the AVR volume this solved the issue.
Just wanted to post this in case anyone else has a similar issue
