TV volume pairing does not work

 Can't pair remote volume to Sony TV (was paired to LG).

Tried TV and 0. Tried reset - TV and rewind which doesn't seem to do anything. Option does not exist in Audio and  Video settings. Have rebooted box. Note  this was originally a V6  that was converted to 360 by download

    Thanks but had tried all but one suggestion and also changed Batteries.

    Pressing standby button for 10 secs just puts box into stand-by,?

    Have I got right remote this is one delivered with box when it was a V6.

    The V6 remote is peanut shaped and is used at the start of the regrade process, you then switch over to the smaller, oblong shaped 360 remote which has a voice button, when indicated to do so by the onscreen prompt.

  • Have you tried removing the batteries and leave them out for a few minutes, this should reset the remote, or even try a new set of batteries.

      Hi Pixelking

      Pressing Live TV and rewind for 10 seconds used to reset the remote control, however this was removed around software version 5.10 which is why that button sequence no longer works

      I can pair a different model TV on my 360 by holding down the Live TV and 0 button together for around 10 seconds. The Standby button then starts to flash and an onscreen message appears Pairing successful - this remote will only work with this Virgin 360 box.

      You can also try the following:-

      Put the box into 'Pairing Mode' by pressing the Standby/On button on the front of the box for 10 seconds.  Then using the remote control, press and hold the 'TV' button and the '0' button together for 10 seconds. And fingers crossed hopefully a  message should appear on the screen confirming that pairing was successful.

    My problem is that screen says paired successfully but cannot change volume or turn off to. Strangely using the old v6 remote does change the volume and turns off tv but nothing else.

      Hi Norrie,

      Go to settings and check System, One Power is set to On, (you need to use the red button to turn both the TV and box off, white button just turns the TV on/off).

      Settings, Audio & Video, the Volume keys control should show your TV, if you have a soundbar if both are paired you can select between them.

      Update;

      Managed to successfully pair 360 remote wt box and Tv by doing the pairing manually through system settings choosing tv make and  the old style yes no continue screen like on the V6 before. Can now use the new remote for volume and switching box and tv.

        OK at  last managed to speak to someone on 150. However they say according to their records I do not have a 360 but a V6 and I thus camot have a mew remote. When I say that the box was converted to 360.without option  when I last renewed my contract they insist that this is incorrect and I must be mistaken! What do I do now?
