Can you create a recording for an unscheduled series?

Is it possible to create a planned recording for a program or series that is not yet scheduled.

For example, I want to record the new episodes of Doctor Who when they come on but can’t set a planned recording because there are no episodes to press the record button on.

On the old V6 box you could enter a phrase as a planned recording and when it did get broadcast it would be recorded.

I don’t always know when a series is starting so wouldn’t know to find an episode to set up recording.

any info would be useful, thanks

    Hi StevieBeeMan,

    Unfortunately you can't set a recording for an upcoming programme if it's not showing on the 360 TV guide.

    It's one of the many differences between the TiVo software used on the V6 and the Horizon software used on the 360 box.

      That is a shame, wonder if a future update will bring back the feature.

    Hi StevieBeeMan,

    All is not lost. If you record an episode - for instance of Doctor Who - and choose the 'record future episodes' option (or whatever it's called) then the 360 will remember this perpetually, and you will find future episodes appear in your planned recordings. I hope this helps.

      To quote the OP... "I want to record the new episodes of Doctor Who ....can’t set a planned recording because there are no episodes to press the record button on"
