Box keeps turning off.

Hi.

My Mums box keeps turning off. we had an engineer round last week and of course it was working when he was there, so he could not fault it and would not change the box,

he adjusted the signal in the house and at the street cabinet and re terminated  some cables..

Anyway its now gone off again twice today, been on  the phone 30 mins and still no answer.

Any ideas?

  • If the box is turning off and just needs turning on again check the Standby timer setting, press Home > Settings > System > Standby timer, you can set it to 4, 5, 6, or 24 hours if your mum hasn't pressed the remote because she's been watching the same channel it will switch off.

Technician done all that last week..and set it to 24 ( I watched him) .problem is at the moment it will not turn on ( no its not the remote), the only way it would start again last week before the tech visit was on the switch at the back.Mum is 93 so cannot get on her knees to do that every time.

I put my second box in the bungalow for her last week and it worked perfectly for the few days she had it.

.the girl on the line has eventually agreed to send a tech out again, she could clearly see a tech was out a few days ago.

How did you get on. I'm having exactly the same issue after 'upgrading' to Virgin 360. Keeps turning off completely (no lights at front) and the only way to turn it on again is by switching off and on at the back of unit. Works OK when watching bit when turning off TV and leaving V6 in standby mode (red light) it then goes off completely. Very frustrating.
