1week now with VM and the 360box. Man i miss SkyQ already! Does anyone else have audio sync issues, with noticeable differences between visual and audio? Both via soundbar and normal tv!? Tried the audio delay settings but its still hopeless. Occasionally get it close, but after time audio drifts...and dont even get me started with Youtube! Arrerghhh 😡 Still within cancellation period...

Hi warev,

It helps if you say what make and model TV and soundbar you have then you might get a better answer and also are you using HDMI for all connections or fibre optic for the audio.

Basically my 360 is connected to one of the HDMI connectors on my TV and the TV and soundbar are connected using the HDMI-eARC connections with the 360's audio output set to follow content and I don't have any audio sync problems, both TV and soundbar are LG.

Thanks for reaching out to our Community Forums @warev, and a very warm welcome to you!

Sorry to hear of the issues you've been experiencing with the audio sync.

Can you please refer to the post from @roy247, and confirm the make and models of the equipment you're using to support the services provided?

Thanks,

I am fairly new to VM and had horrendous (other) problems when I joined but the latest is this out of sync issue which is so damned frustrating  other problems I’d had, it’s like one hing after another and yes, I too miss Sky Q as a result, you definitely get what you pay for! However, I am no techs and I definitely don’t have a soundbar either so I really need help of the kind that I can follow! I notice that Virgin don’t appear to help much on this forum……

Hi SL7

For Sound issues go to Setting > Audio & Video > Audio Output > there are options > Follow Content, PCM 5.1 (HDMI only), and PCM 2.0
Choose whether you want the audio output to follow the quality of the original content (Dolby Digital where available) or to be converted to PCM 2.0 (stereo) or PCM 5.1 (uncompressed multi channel sound).

Using PCM settings may resolve audio sync issues. Netflix will always use Follow Content. Use 'Follow Content' for any bitstream audio like Atmos where it's available on content.

PCM 5.1 (HDMI only) is generally used for sync issues, along with the Audio delay adjustment setting (PCM audio synchronisation) which can be found under Settings > Audio & Video > Audio delay

You may also need to re-calibarate the actual audio settings on your TV
