There are possibly a few more TiVo patented features that are missing than you have mentioned.
Regarding the recordings try using the Advanced options when setting recordings you can select the New Only option and others.
Question for you "did you do any research before switching from V6 to 360". Don't expect any updates that you are asking for. 😞

It’s unlikely that VM will make any changes because the same software, after just language tailoring, is use by other Liberty Global countries in Europe.

lol i didn't do any research, was no point , As it was going to be a forced upgrade after 5 days. I was late to the party.
Advanced options - (For Existing recording ) Correct, to get to this section takes a few clicks. This option would better on the first screen, top left near, with the show details.
What I also noticed, Only some shows have Advanced options, to change any options of the show. Its either cancel or delete. you cancel, have to search for the show again and run Advanced options.
Time will tell.

Coversions from TiVo/V6 > TV360 are always voluntary, except in the specific circumstance of a new package bundle containing elements that are not available on TiVo/V6 - namely Paramount+ or Disney+
The 5 day period you refer to, is for when you've already requested a conversion and have received the new remote. You then have ~5 days to instigate the software conversion yourself before it's done for you. If you don't request a migration to TV360, you won't get to this stage.
