360 limit of 3 boxes

Maxieftm

Hi, apologies if this has been touched on before, I've tried searching but it's a big forum!

I've been told that to upgrade to 360, there is a limit of 3 boxes per household.  I was just wondering (assuming this is correct) if anyone knows if this may ever change, or is it a system limitation?

I have 4 boxes (3x V6 and 1x Tivo) and when i first enquired the helpline tried to charge me £160 to upgrade (even though I have full package including sports). When queried with the twitter account, they say its because I have 4 boxes.

Will this every change, or do I need to start negotiating with my family which of the boxes we have to give up!?

Cheers

Many would argue that a switch from V6 to 360 is in many ways a downgrade in terms of functionality. As far as I understand it the only need to do so is continuing access to Sky Sports. Others on here are better placed than me to advise on this.

I believe the ceiling on 360 mini boxes is two. https://www.virginmedia.com/tv/multiroom

The maximum design limit for Horizon is 3 boxes. This applies not just to Virgin, but to all the Liberty group cable companies that use the Horizon TV platform. The only difference with the non-UK/Eire operations is that there is no hard drive box, as recordings are stored in the cloud.

I think you need to speak to someone else about a charge to migrate.

Negotiating is needed but it's no problem in deciding which one to drop as the TiVo is sadly inadequate and VM wants you to dispose of it as well. You could move a V6 to where the TiVo is but it will need a connection to the hub.

Migration will involve three 360 remotes being sent to you and you migrate the software over the network, doesn't take long (mine took minutes).
