Hi all,
Recently setup our new 360 box on a JVC TV, model number LT-40CA890.
The remote works fine with the guide, channels etc but not with volume, on/off.
When trying to pair, the model number doesn’t come up under the JVC search and none of the key testing is working either.
any help on pairing our remote with the TV controls would be appreciated
TIA

Hi SuperSam1
A890 comes up as a match under the JVC search on my 360 and should work with yours.
Sometimes the model number search fails until you try new batteries in the remote.
Pairing should also work by holding down the 'Live TV' and '0' button together for around 10/15 seconds. The Standby button should then start to flash followed by an onscreen message displaying 'Pairing successful - this remote will only work with this Virgin 360 box'.
You can also try the following:-
Put the box into 'Pairing Mode' by pressing the Standby/On button on the front of the 360 box for 10 seconds. Then using the remote control, press and hold the 'Live TV' button and the '0' button together for 10/15 seconds. And fingers crossed hopefully a message should appear on the screen confirming that pairing was successful.

Thanks for the response.
When trying to pair through the model search, it is asking for the first 4 characters, not last 4. But either way, it isn’t finding the model still.
I’ve also tried changing the batteries but still no luck.
Yesterday, I reset the remote and repaired but still doesn’t work the volume and on/off.

I've re-read your initial post and it does appear to be paired as you stated, 'it works fine with the guide, channels etc'
You've also said it doesn't work with , ' with volume, on/off'' - to remedy this on the 360 go to
Settings > System > One Power - - if that is set to OFF please turn it to ON.
You might also need to enable CEC on your TV - to do this see page 54 (of 64) of the TV manual on the following page /currys.dixons/manuals/JVC -LT-40C890Manual.pdf

Tried the one power setting and that has enabled the power on/off to work with the 360 remote, which is great, thanks!
Volume still not working so I’ll try the CEC setting later but power is the main one we wanted as it is virtually broken on our old JVC remote.
Thanks again for the help.
