just got the dreaded error when turning on my tv box.

That's a hard drive failure and in the unlikely event that it recovers it is essentially borked and will need replacing.
It can take a day ot two for forum staff to pick up your post. If you don't want to wait for them I'm afraid your best option is to call them on 150 from a Virgin landline or 0345 454 1111. It's best to call around 8am when lines first open.
When calling Faults ignore all the options and don't press any buttons then you should be placed into a queue and an agent should pick up the phone and book the tech for you.
